Rep Power: 0 Full Aftermarket Sound Overhaul
Hey guys I just got a '94 Honda Civic from a private seller, in great condition my avatar is a picture of it. In terms of the sound it is currently running an old panasonic tapedeck 4x40 watt stereo with pioneer speakers. sounds pretty good. But I am gonna do a full overhaul on everything, and I was wondering if I could get your opinion on a few things...
First of all, I'm getting the Kenwood KDC-248U deck, it's my favorite of all the ones I've looked at and well within my budget. It runs 50w x 4, and i was wondering if that would be enough to run 4 JBL GTO638 speakers? they run a max of 180 watts, so I don't think I'd blow em, but I assume i can at least push some good sound with that kenwood.
Secondly, and possibly most important, if I'm running two Kenwood KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken!) W3012 subwoofers in the trunk with a rockford-fosgate R Prime 500-1 amp (my friend has this exact stereo/amp/woofer set up so i know it bumps) am i gonna blow my rear speakers if the subs r in a closed trunk? if so how could i fix this? would it be possible to port the trunk into the car and would that do a lot of irreversible damage to the interior?...
Thanx for your replies guys, and all the best!
