Radio hot wire quit being hot?

Hey guys I'm a noob on civic forum, and I hve my first problem, I got a new head unit for my 95 civic 4door lx. I installed it but didn't connect y wires very good I just wanted to test it out. I pulled it to hook the wires up better and when pushing it back in the slot I saw a small spark. Noe for some reason the hot wire isn't hot and my in dash clock is super dim. Yes I checked the fuses and it's fine. Any electrical gurus out there that can help me diagnose the problem? Thanks for the help.

well a spark usually means blown fuse. but if you shorted the illumination circuit, there is no fuse and you likely fried the dash lights and the dimmer.

Ok well what part of that is causing my live wire to the radio to not be hot? And do you know how I can figure out exactly what I did?

if the radio battery wire is dead, then you blew a fuse.

yea the fuse is FINE! that was the weird part you know i automatically assumed it was the fuse. Well my indash clock is bright thensuper dim just like my radio live wire. one second it will read zero and next second i'll get a little out of it then a lot then zero. so I'm guessing there is a bad ground somewhere. problem is, where?
