New Deck wont get power

i have a 94 civic. i was hooking up a sub( wireing is done). i took the deck out from the sloth to attatch the RCA's and the remote wire (didnt touch anything else). turn the car on and the deck doesnt turn on, so i took it out checked everything out, couldnt see where the problem could be, so i tried a few more times checked the wireing but no luck (figured something wrong with the deck). I bought a new deck, this time i had to rewire everything (diff harness) this time i didnt attatch the RCA's or remote wire this time. i turn the car on and same problem. figured it was a fuse or someting so i checked, everything seems to be fine. i left it as it is cause i couldnt figure it out. later that nite i was headin out when i turned my headlights on the lights on the deck came on( but no power). so here i am trying to figure out wat the problem could be..help if someone can pls..would greately appreciate it.

Thank you

You must have hooked up something wrong in the harness

Check your wiring

Re: New Deck wont get power

Hmm... sounds like you hooked up the orange (i think) illum or dimmer wire. Make sure you don't have that connected or you could fry electrical parts in your car. Have you checked to make sure your backup fuses under the hood are intact. Most importantly though, check your wiring diagram and make sure Illumination, and Dimmer wires are both disconnected and taped off.

I'm not sure if the illum/dimmer are the same in a 94 though... hmm.. anyone else have input on this?

Re: New Deck wont get power

before i replacee the deck, i had no reason to touch the wires except hooking up the RCA's to its output and the remote wire from the amp to the antenna fuse(deck #1)

then i figured it was a fuse or someting with the deck. so i checked all the fuses, everything seemed to be normal, then i replace the deck after i had no luck with (deck #1). so i didnt think it was a wireing problem since i didnt touch anything else.

(deck#2) i had to disconnect the wires this time and hook them up from scratch (diff harness) so this was the only time i actually touched all the wires. (left the RCA's and the remote wire from amp out/not attatch). and still no power. this time the headlights are fine, now deck is juss sittin there(cant figure it out)

there aren't any wires left out (everything matched up with the deck#2 harness) doesn't say anything about illum/dimmer on wiring diagram.

any idea what they'd look like on a 94 civic original wires from the car(not the deck)
thanks for the help

Weeeird... do your brake lights work? Are you sure the black ground wire is grouded properly? Try grounding it to a metal plate inbehind the dash instead of the OEM black ground wire.
