Hi guys.. I have a 1992 Honda Prelude SI with 182xxx. I am the 3rd Owner. The other day I was cruising on the highway when i heard a scraping noise for about 3 sec. followed by my speed and rpms dropping. I tried to engage the clutch to rev and there was no response. I couldn't even continue to maintain my speed so there was no gas either. As soon as i stopped on the emergency breakdown lane. I engaged the clutch to turn the car on. The only noise i heard was a mechanical whirling of some sort. As soon as i was done cussing up a storm i checked under the hood. No smoke of any sort. Checked the oil and there was still oil. That was about 2 weeks ago. Still trying to figure out whats wrong with it. If you guys could give me tips or insight on what could possibly be wrong id greatly appreciate it. Thanks!


KNOWN PROBLEMS BEFORE HAND - The car needed a new clutch wicked bad. Clutch was completely gone or near to it. It had a high idle due to the throttle body needing to be cleaned i guess. A minor leak on the head gasket.

If it won't run now, check the timing belt. Jumped time or broke. Then see if a pulley locked up.
