What function does the ECU have when it comes to the Automatic transaxle? I only see two shift solinoids. It seems to be just hydraulic. Can't figure ouy why I have all gears for about ten minutes then no gears at all til I turn off the ignition and restart then I have every gear for about ten minutes and no gears. No slipping, no noises or anything like that. It stops pulling like it went to neutrol.

Re: 94 civic ecu
Does the trans make a whine or squeal when it stops driving?
The right things to check would be fault codes and data, then maybe do fluid pressure checks when the trans stops pulling.
If you just want a SWAG, I'll say it needs a trans.
Something else to try is unplug the connectors from the trans solenoids (disable computer shift inputs) and see what it drives like. Then go drive it for 10 minutes. See what happens.
I THINK there isn't much more than a lock up solenoid on that trans, so only minimal control by the computer.
