Trouble with the Cold Start
Trouble with the Cold Start
I have a '94 DX Coupe automatic that hates to start when it's cold. Weather it's been sitting all night or a few hours it'a pain to get it started. I didn't have this problem during the summer and I can't find out what's wrong. I've done all the regular maintenance needed and I've replaced the Distributor cap and rotor. I have a new set or spark plugs and wires. It runs fine after I get it up and running and it will start up without a problem after it's been running for a little bit but it's the initial start up that gives me trouble.
Re: Trouble with the Cold Start
Get your battery tested, sounds like it could be that. Could also be a lazy fuel pump loosing pressure as it sits, but start with the battery. If that's good, try turning the key to position 2, then off then to pos 2 then off again and then try starting it. If its a lazy fuel pump this will "prime" it so that there is enough fuel pressure to start. If it does start after priming then you need a new fuel pump.
