Starter/electrical problem
Starter/electrical problem
Hello everyone, I need help with my '93 civic LX. It has been sitting for approx. a month and when I went to start it, it only produced a rapid clicking noise, the clicking lasted the entire time the key would be turned. I checked the battery, good. I compression started it and it ran fine. I purchased a rebuilt starter/solenoid and nothing. I used jumpers from the battery to starter and ground to a clean good ground. Nothing, just clicked more rapidly. Is there a relay or something else that can be checked. Thx in advance.

Re: Starter/electrical problem
Sounds like the typical dead battery.
Clean posts and cable ends?
Jumper cables from a running car?
Charge it up. Have it tested with a real load tester.
Test the battery while it is loaded, not just sitting there.
Stick a known good battery in it.
Voltage drop testing might be one way to test. Could show poor connections.
