93 Civic LX Kenwood Stereo - HELP!
Edit: Everything works fine now. Just need to grab some extra fuses.
Hello. I'm new here - first post - and the reason I am here is because I am trying to install a new Kenwood KDC-202u Stereo ( http://www.kenwood.ca/Car_Entertainm...ivers/KDC-202U ) in my 93 Civic LX but am having wiring issues.
#1 - My brother tapped in to the constant behind the clock and ran a wire to the stereo hoping that everything would work fine, but the clock now doesn't have constant power and doesn't light up until the engine is running. Once the engine is running the clock is set back to 1:00.
#2 - My brother also ran a new wire tapped in to the switched for the cigarette lighter as well as a new wire for the ground which is also behind the cigarette lighter but I am not using them because the Stereo did not come on when everything was plugged back in using those new connections.
#3 - When using the stock wiring (the ground, constant and switched) the stereo still doesn't turn on
So my question is... Does anyone have a clue as to what my problem might be? Like should I remove those extra connections or should I run a fresh constant from my battery? (can't seem to be able to un-solder the extra wire tapped in to the clock's constant. Any help would be great - Thanks!
PS - Just realized this should be in Electrical, Wiring, and In Car Entertainment instead, if anyone could tell me how to move this thread.

Re: 93 Civic LX Kenwood Stereo - HELP!
I was gone when my bro was messing around with it. I have it working now. the problem is that the extra constant my bro ran was pushed back and touched a ground are and blew a fuse. I'm grabbing more fuses tomorrow and should have everything up and running in the morning. Thanks for the reply though.
