Re: idle problems

Idle problems could be a bunch of things but more info might help narrow it down: When it idles does the engine die? Sputter? Race? Does it happen all the time? Only after warmed up? Only before warmed up? More likely on damp days? Thanks.

Re: idle problems

No no check engine light, it happens all the time as soon as it starts.. very strange.. when its hot, cold, warm it don't matter as soon as it turns over it holds steady at 1800rpms till i push the gas then it bounces.

Re: idle problems

I had a bad idling issue with my EM1. It was a combination of the IACV, and a bad Throttle Position Sensor.

However, if it ends up being the TPS, it has to be calibrated. If not calibrated correctly, you will still have idling problems.

Just throwing that out there.

Older Hondas are notorious for having idle issues, so your not alone!

Re: idle problems

yeah im gonna run a seafoam treatment later today, then take the throttle body off and clean everything... IF it was the TPS wouldn't that mess up my cruise control because it still works fine. car runs good when driving just not at idle

Re: idle problems

Your TPS will also cause a bad idle. Theres no telling unless you replace it really. Good thing there pretty cheap.

Re: idle problems

Well i went to the junkyard and pulled a Throttle body.. replaced it with the senors that was on it.. car runs fine now... Im guessing it was either the TPS or Air sensor.. when i took the Intake off it was just sucking ALOT of air... so im guessing it was that Air sensor...
