Catalytic Converter or Fuel Leak?
Catalytic Converter or Fuel Leak?
Lately I have lost power in my 94 Civic EX Coupe VTEC. When I punch it, it doesn't have the same acceleration anymore. I have also been getting worse fuel economy. Occasionally when I start it, it doesn't seem to get enough gas and wants to stall. I do smell gas occasionally when it's running, at a red light, or parked, but i'm not sure if that's because I have an aftermarket exhaust. I do hear air when I step on it though, which makes me lean more towards the catalytic converter. Maybe it's both? Thanks for the help.
Re: Catalytic Converter or Fuel Leak?
after you have driven it , jack it up and check the gas tank and undercarriage for wet spots, then check around the fuel filter and fuel injectors. they leak a lot around the seals. anytime you smell gas you should isolate the problem immediately
