1993 DX ignition problem
1993 DX ignition problem
Hey guys, I have a 1993 DX with the D15B. The guy I bought it from installed an MSD external ignition coil. When he did, he mounted it to the top of the fender well on the passenger side. Nearly a year ago I hit a large bump in the road and the coil busted, leaving me on the side of the road. I replaced the old one with a new one, and she ran just fine...until about a month ago. Started her up at around 4 pm and left for work, everything was fine. Pulled up and parked at work around 5 pm, still fine. When I got back into my car after my shift at about 6 am or so, it would crank, but acted like it wouldn't get fire. Sure enough, the coil was bad again so I hitched a ride home and brought a new MSD the next day. Replaced it, and she started just fine at around 5 pm. Next morning, same thing...no fire. I have absolutely no idea why a brand new ignition coil would cease to function after only one startup, thus I am asking you guys. Please feel free to ask further questions or to lend any advice, it is rather vital that I have this car. Thank you and good day.
