95 Civic DX halfshaft
I have to replace the driver side halfshaft on my 95 DX. When the part came in it was one with the tines on the bearing end (anti-lock brake), my vehicle does not have anti-lock brakes. I was wondering if it mattered or can I use this halfshaft and not have any problems with fitting. I really don't want to install it just to find out it doesn't fit right and have to return it. Thanks.
Re: 95 Civic DX halfshaft
That's what I was afraid of.
On another note, this vehicle has not been started in about 8 months, is there anything i should do to the engine before trying to start it?
Thanks.

Re: 95 Civic DX halfshaft
My girlfriend didn't start my 94 Corolla for almost 7 months after I got my Civic. It started right up. The only issue we had with it was that the parking brake was slightly applied and had to find a way to loosen it up. Me personally, I'd drain and refill any fluids. If you're changing the axles, you'll more than likely have to change the tranny fluid anyways. I'd also check the spark plugs and wires. It all depends on how the car was taken care of. The Corolla drove just fine, even when it sat for that long.
Re: 95 Civic DX halfshaft
Thats good to hear. I am going to change the oil and have already drained the tranny. The only other thing to drain may be the gas. do you think that would have to be done? I do live in MI and even though the car was in a garage all winter there could still be some condensation in it. Do you think a fuel additive would work or do i need to drain the fuel tank too? thanks.
