Opinion on Painting
Opinion on Painting
I need your opinion on this, I just took in my bros 1993 that he wrecked. All it needs is to replace the drivers front fender/bumper/headlight, side marker. Overall the car has no dents/dings besides on on the drivers rear panel that the shop would fix for me. I'm going to use it as my daily driver soon, and want it to look nice. I've gotten prices on parts/labor to fix. So far fixing it and painting the repairs run around 1500. If I decide to paint the whole car, done right meaning taking off all lights/molding the guy would charge about $2000 plus $500 in parts. So at the end it would be $1500 to fix and paint about half the car. Or $2500 to fix and paint the whole car.
I plan on keeping/driving this car for atleast 2yrs. The interior of the car is clean also. I'm just debating if spending the extra 1k would be worth it in the long run. The car has no mechanical problems what so ever.
I've had a couple people say that with the car looking clean and new paint job that I'd probably get my money back when I decide to sell. BTW I didnt pay my bro for the car either. He just handed it to me, so I have no money in the car as of now.
What would you do in my shoes?

Re: Opinion on Painting
Spend the extra grand. You should be able to get at least $1500-2000 back when you sell in a couple years, if it still looks good. In the meantime you have a nice looking ride.
