New to the civic world, please helppp

Hey, I am going to be buying a 1994 Honda Civic on monday, it is nothind special, a 4 door DX. I got it to save money, but not I really wanna make it look sick. Its color is a light purple that can pass off as gray, and it have 1 or 2 rust marks on the body. I also wanna paint it black later on. I am not sure where to start off though. Any ideas on what should be done first? I don't want to go for speed until the car looks better. I was also thinking about getting it painted at MAACO, but have. Heard some bad reviewsss.

In the United States, for how long you can use a car?

I say buy yourself some sanding equipment and some primer and get to sanding. It does not cost much. Maaco paint kobs are cheap and you get what you pay for, they look decent at first but do not last as long. I say you do it yourself. If you have access to a garage you can buy a cheap compressor, filter and sprayer and do it for relatively cheap.

But before all of that I would give it a tune up so that you don't have to worry about that stuff for a while don't forget to include fuel filter and injector cleaner (these are often overlooked).Fix anything that is mechanically wrong with it and worry about cosmetics second.

Where in NJ are you from? I'm from Linden and I have all the tools to paint a car but you would need to do all the prep work before I would shoot it with paint. You should post up some pics when you get her so we can see what you're working with.

I'm from Westwood, actually not too far from Linden. That would be pretty cool if you could do that up, and yea I'll deff do the prep work. I'm also gonna try to get a few pics to post up.
