99 Civic VP, No sound from RF Speaker
99 Civic VP, No sound from RF Speaker
My Parents have a 99 Civic VP with a factory CD Player.
All the speakers except the RF door speaker has sound. I swapped the LF speaker, but still no sound.
I'm guessing the RF Channel is blown in the Factory CD Player. Is this a common problem?
Since it's my parent's car, they don't need a great system, but I was just wondering if it is worth it to purchase a used factory cd player to fix the problem.
If it's a common problem, then I will go with aftermarket.

Not common to me here.
You say you swapped the left speaker to the right and it didn't work, but did you make sure the right speaker really works by connecting it to the left door? It would suck to be trying to figure out 2 different problems that both cause no sound.
A VP doesn't have power windows, right? You'd probably never know if a wiring harness was disconnected.
I'd make sure the wiring is good, and still connected where the door harness connects to the body, probably up above the kick panel.
Next would be yanking the radio and doing an ohm check for that speaker at the plug on the radio, to make sure the wiring and speaker are good (connected). Also make sure neither wire is grounded.

The LF speaker works (music/sound from the CD Player), so I tried it in the RF door, but no sound.
I tried the RF speaker in the LF Door and it played so the wires for the RF speaker are not getting power from the CD Player.
