i think not (older ones are on the most stolen for that reason - remembered that now), but if yes, there would be a green key light in the dash - sorry for that, older than 7th gen (2001+) do not have them.

Re: D16y7 to D16y8

The factory harness goes underneath the carpet and the sensor wires pass through a grommet to the inside right? You'll have to swap that over

hmm im sorta confused on that.. Lets see, it seems the harness for a non-vtec has both o2 sensors connections.Where the harness for a v-tec only has one? I believe your right the o2 sensor after cat runs up through the floor. So I dont know where or how it connects to the ecu yet. I guess ill follow it up on the ex in the morn and see if I can figure it out.

Re: D16y7 to D16y8

No immobilizer on 2000 and earlier.
7th gen was the beginning of immobilizer on Civics.

awesome dude! where is the harness connection? inside the cabin or in the engine bay? rockauto does list 2 different sensors, one 96-98 and one 99-00, you can also buy o2 sensor extension harnesses

The down-stream o2 sensor runs into the cabin and connects to another connection behind the shifter under the radio.
I have some proublems though. The car starts up and drives around the neighborhood ok until it warms up. Once it warms it bogs out and wont start.
Im getting 3 codes po131,po135,and po141 .All 3 i think are o2 related. Should the car run without any o2 sensors hooked up or should I start looking at something else?
I hope that this is caused from the up-stream o2 sensor not being hooked up.Its not hooked up cuzz 99-00 harness o2 connection is male as is the o2 sensor connection.
So this is what I think....The car starts cold becouse its in open loop thus running off set perimeters then when warm its trying to run from what the sensor is giving. What I dont know is if a o2 sensor will cause this or something else? That is entirely a guess. Plz chim in if you have any other thoughts.

You still have the front O2 sensor hooked up? Unplug the sensors if you haven't already (for test purposes, of course).

Without O2 sensors, the ECM will stay in open loop all the time.
