B20 swap???
B20 swap???
Hey I'm new to the honda scene. I just picked up a 97 civic 4dr with the stock d16y7 but after a few weeks I cracked the block. Now I'm looking to do a swap and was reading about the b20 cr-v engine. I pretty much want to get a little more power with out spending a fortune looking to spend $1000 or less. Should I swap into the b20 or go with something else and what would I need? Please help lol
Re: B20 swap???
If you are not doing it your self you will end up paying wayyy more!
The B20 rebuilt runs $800-1500 alone... plus shipping
unless you found a donor car that hasn't been pounded on and can pull the engine yourself.
plus
transmission/ecu/harness/aftermarket mounts
You could be looking at $2000 in parts alone.
I'm not saying not to do it, just letting you know that mod'ed cars are a money pit.

Re: B20 swap???
that actually depends entirely on his location and what the usual prices are. ls/b20 by me is around 500-800$ for long block i'm in ny. to do the swap you need the b series mounts and axles/halfshafts and you'll need the stock b20 ecu or you can run stock ls ecu
