D16y7 to y8

I have a 98' ex with a blown up d16y8 vtec motor. i have a d16y7 non vetc motor, can i take the head off the y8 and use it on the y7 without issues.

Depending on how the engine failed, I have seen debris from bottom end bearing disintegration travel all throughout the oiling system, yes even up into the head, cam journals, rockers and valvetrain and VTEC screen.

So, you might need to completely strip the head and do serious cleaning.

Other than that, I think it can be a doable swap.
