Top or Bottom?

I am doing an engine swap in my 97 (old one knocks real bad) which is easier, taking it out through the top or pull it out from underneath? was told you do it out the bottom but thought i should check its my first swap and i need this car.

Re: Top or Bottom?

Unless you need to change out the sub-frame pull it from the top, from the bottom is a PITA.

Re: Top or Bottom?

No problem, good luck.

I should add, most people who prefer to drop the motor from underneath have hydraulic lifts.
