97 civic trany swap problem

97 civic trany swap problem

hey guys need your help on a problem i have .i have a 97 coupe m/t civic tranny was bad when i bought it (no 2nd gear) so a friend had a good used tranny out a 94 civic so i did the swap now the starter from my car wont catch to start the car my question is do i need a starter for that year tranny or am i out of luck
ps the car starts if i jump it in 2nd and drives good

This is a '97 starter. Notice the mounting bracket: http://www.bkhondaparts.com/billkay/...itch=&hidIrno=

And this is a '94 starter. Notice the different mounting bracket: http://www.bkhondaparts.com/billkay/...itch=&hidIrno=

They seem to be the same starter just different mounting brackets. See if you can get the bracket for that '94.
