Civic Si Turbo Info

I just came across a 99 civic si stock except an AEM short ram intake with only 71k miles for $6500 IMO great buy. Anyway I've been looking at the edelbrock performer x kit and was wondering if anyone one had any issues with this kit and also what kinda mileage I could expect from it.

It comes with a gt28r, mototron piggyback ECU, performer x intake manifold, exhaust manifold, intercooler, and tial BOV.

Re: Civic Si Turbo Info

Been trying to find some info out on that one myself. I just pulled my B16 out and swapped in a B18c... i am running a GSR bottom end and a type-r head. used all arp hardware and fasteners and cometic head gasket. The reason for this was a full type-r is only recomended to run 4 or 5 pounds of boost due to its extremly high compression ratio but the gsr block is lower compression and can handle 7 psi all day no sweat and you'll get better tourque with the type-r's head due to the cam setup and the dual valve spring setup. so let me know what else you find out i would definatley love to know.

Re: Civic Si Turbo Info

well i dont have that kit.. but for mileage. . it all deppends how often you hit boost and how big your injectors are and how much they are putting out for boost

see i'm on an 8psi tune on 80% duty cycle with 440cc injectors. . if i hit boost about 20% of my drive i'll get about 30-50km's less to a tank
if i dont hit boost at all; i have my car tuned on highway speeds to run at an AFR of 16/16.5:1 instead of the wanted stock 14.7 which everyone knows it runs richer than that incase soemone gets a bad tank of gas(14:1 approx) etc etc. . i am getting an extra 30-50km to my tank if i stay out of boost

another thing for mileage is its all about the tune. . when i'm not under load or boost i'm sitting between 15:1 - 16.5:1 AFR's through idle-the 5 grand i shift at

under boost its at a constant 11:1 AFR so i use ALOT of fuel

Hey thanks man, I was beginning to wonder if anyone ran there mileage after boosting lol. It helped your mileage out from stock, I would have thought the opposite would be true(one more reason to boost lol).
