Brace vs Bar

Hey guys I'm thinking about adding a subframe brace, and/or strutbars . I understand the concept of both as to strengthening the chassis up. Would there be a point in running both or just stick to the strutbars. Which do you guys preferred.

....has anyone ever built their own strut bars???
