Cheap quick struts on ebay

I expect these cheap alternatives to be uncomfortable but I'm more worried about how long they will last. Does anyone have any experiences or reviews on Ebay products to share?

One of the problems with cheap eBay stuff is the level of quality control (zero). You are taking a risk that you will get a good part. I the doing things twice so it's not worth it IMO.

My cousin bought brown box quick struts off of Amazon, and ones of the ones he got was defective. Ended up selling the car so I dont know how long they would have lasted.

I purchased a set of Unity strut sets from here http://unityautomotive.co/. Have had them for about 5 months and have been pleased so far. They were less than the ones you are looking at and have a lifetime warranty. Great replacement for stock.
This was for a 94 civic so your prices may vary.

LOL Blue. Yea it most likely isn't worth the risk. It's just so damn tempting. I'll definitely look into those Unity quick struts though

Re: Cheap quick struts on ebay

The crappiest quick strut I'd ever go with is Monroe (because I've done it). However... I'd much rather settle for a good set of coilovers or OEM because the quality is FAR superior. Even if you play to keep it OEM height coilovers are a pretty good option (Tein Basis are about 850 dollars) and the quality is far better than Monroe. Once you buy 4 Monroes your basically getting to around the 5-600 dollar mark anyway.

My car is actually lowered on Blox SS coilovers. I was going to replace them so I could get back to stock height but maybe I'll just keep them and adjust them. They were near new when I bought the car about a year and some months ago. I'm just nervous because I've never adjusted coilovers before but it looks easy according to Youtube

Re: Cheap quick struts on ebay

there's simply... the risk that it will be a cheap ride and quick life...
I do steer away, so can't vouch for real life experience, but everything in life is a risk.

pull the trigger if you are willing to take the risk, come back here to post if your experience is actually better than expected. (yup, deals actually does exist, but they smile upon only the ones that did try.) Most were burned by the choices they made, though...

heck, i myself was an newbie engineer in the office once. if no one gave me the chance, i would never be were i am. several ones did burn out along the way, tho. and not even burn bright.
you might be one lucky one to find a good but cheap parts supplier.

oh, i just noticed too...
if you have coilovers, just raise them and check alignment. camber & toe would change.

Yea true lol. I've been looking around and it looks like Blox suspension parts are considered garbage . So my plan now is to adjust the coilovers, save up for decent quick struts or coilovers and hope these coilovers don't crap out until then. I've put 19k on them myself so far
