Need Help Deciding..

So right now I have Eibach sports with Koni strt.t struts. Overall its about a 1.75" drop. It rides great but Im wanting to swap the springs for something else because the front sits a hair higher than the back and it bugs the hell outta me lol, + I want the car its self to sit lower.

Ive been looking at neuspeed race springs ($200). Supposedly they give almost a 3" drop. I was also looking at ground control coil sleeves ($350), but I dont know if I would ever want to adjust the height, Im just looking for a nice wheel tuck.

Ive heard a lot of good things about Nuespeed springs.
What do you guys think?

Springs are springs are springs. They're coiled pieces of metal. It's all about the spring rates. As far as a 3'' drop, that's ridiculous. There's no need to go that low. Also, if your front sits higher than your rear after installing aftermarket suspension, my guess is you probably mixed up the front and rear springs. Either that or you got some massive freakin' subs in the back.

If you want that "hella-flush" look, there are plenty of guides on b20 and ht that will guide you in the right direction. Just have a spare oil pan handy.

Well, Im actually set on H&R Springs. They give a 2.3/2.5 drop, and I love the way they look on an EM1. As for the front being higher than the back, I do have a big setup in the trunk, but I'm hoping when I get these new springs, Itll either be a little lower in the front, or just even all the way around.

& What do you mean about having a spare oil pan handy?

Anyways, thanks for the reply!

What are the spring rates of your current/new springs?

And what I mean is your car is going to be so slammed that you risk busting your oil pan on a pothole, speed bump, crappy roads, anything. Also know that if you go that low your car may experience snap oversteer. Depending on your wheel/tire size, you also might have fitment issues as well as camber issues. You will also put a lot of stress on the ball joints and wheel bearings, which you might have to regularly replace.

Re: Need Help Deciding..

Right now I have Eibach Sports [ 310F/275R (P/P) ] on 195/55/15 tires.

I have heard nothing but good things from people who have H&R springs on their EM1. I havent heard of anyone experiencing snap oversteer, or busting their oil pan.

Not really looking for the "hella flush" look. Just the "flush" look

Heres a pic of an EM1 with the same size rims and tires:

Re: Need Help Deciding..

Progressive springs get progressively (hence the name) stiffer as they compress, so that's probably why your subs are making your rear end sink a bit. At rest they're a bit softer than the 275 they're rated at. Either that or the 275 is the average. Not 100% sure on that.

The roads where I live are pretty bad. Busting an oil pan is probably more of a volkswagen fetish, and probably an overstatement, but 3'' is still a big drop. It's not quite slammed, but with that tire size on Si rims I can see it looking pretty good. Snap oversteer is rare, but if you do something like let off the gas mid-corner it's possible.

But anyway, back to your original question, neuspeed's are great, but I would look into getting a linear spring instead of a progressive spring. That might fix your "lower in the back" problem. I think neuspeeds make linear springs, I am not sure. Linear's have kinda gone out of style since progressives are much better for daily driving.

Having height adjustment isn't really necessary if you're just after looks. I'd save the money on the GC sleeves. If you want to drop it 3" like you mentioned before, you're definitely gonna need camber kits to tuck the wheels.

Re: Need Help Deciding..

Yeah, I have turned more toward the H&R over Neuspeed (same company I know), because they have a bit lower drop (2.5F/2.3R). They also have a stiffer spring rate than the eibachs.

The H&R is what I am probably getting, there spring rate is 460F/360R and they dont make linear springs, just progressive.

Should I look into getting a camber kit? Id be dropped about 2.5" all the way around.

Re: Need Help Deciding..

H&R is a great brand, for sure. The general rule of thumb is, if you're lowered more than 2'', you should definitely invest in an aftermarket camber kit. Having that extra adjustment will make for a better alignment, and will allow you to go to a bigger tire/rim if you wish in the future.

Those rates are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too stiff for the SRT.T shocks. They are an OE replacement shock, nothing more. They are, according to Koni, rated to dampen no more than 350lb/ft (source http://www.team-integra.net/forum/18...-shocks-2.html --- page 2). So the rates on what you have now work fine, but I wouldn't go any stiffer.
