Different Struts/Springs on the civic

Hey, i've looked throughout the forums and i can't find any on this maybe ive missed it but i need some help with this...soooo a friend of mine gave me the struts/springs he had on his lowered civic.. its a 96 ex coupe he had them on.. its a manual car if that makes a difference.. buuut i drive a 93 civic lx sedan auto.. yeah ewww i know. i want to put these struts springs on my civic and wondering if 1st of all, thats a possibility.. i dun't know much about the suspension.. and 2nd of all, it looks to me that 2 of the springs he gave me are eibach... and the other two are tein.. i thinkk.. the struts to me look as stock honda struts but im really unsure what im getting here.. would there be any way of making sure... theyre are some numbers on the struts/springs.. pics.. dunno..he says the should give me a good drop but im wondering if this is possible? or something smart to do? FEEDBACK APPRECIATED!.

I believe it should fit, but the ride height might be different than its rated at.

1) You'll have different spring rates.

2) Ask him why they aren't a matching set. I bet his rear was too high so he got two springs that lower more than the front for the back. Since you have a sedan, I'm betting this setup would result in some major sag in the back.

This set up should not sag at the back since a 93 LX auto sedan weighs 2388lbs and a EX manual coupe weighs 2483lbs. The ride should be stiffer on your car and you may actually sit higher than his car.

Sigh, yeah I got that backwards. I knew the 5th gens were lighter than the sixth, that just didn't get translated to the page.

Put them on and post pics when you get it done.

Smile Re: Different Struts/Springs on the civic

ok after alot of work on the struts/springs i finally got them in and no problems currently. lol first time doing them... so i had to replace the back struts with my stock struts.. i put in the springs on my stock ones.. the front struts were able to fit but i had to replace the passangers side strut as well after alot of bumping and it had lost the top part of the strut.. inside the hood.. well all in all, the car has a decent drop, it feels nice going over bumps.. no rub and im happy =D 2 tein.. something in the front and 2 eibach in the back.. hope my struts make it... oh and i have to get a camera... =D
