Neuspeed springs wear on my tires
Neuspeed springs wear on my tires
I purchased a set of neuspeed springs from a guy for $50 which seemed like a good deal until I put them on and found that my wheels sometimes rub on the wheel wells. The springs were a 2" drop for my 99 civic si. I like the look and the ride is fun but I cant handle the rubbing on hard corners. Is my best option to just sell the springs and get some that offer a 1" drop or would 1 1/2" work. It seems like it rubs probably like 1/4" into my tire. Oh yeah...Ive got KYB AGX 4 way adjustable in front and 8 in rear. Any suggestions for new springs if that is the case?

Re: Neuspeed springs wear on my tires
ppl are always blaming tire wear on camber. i talked with all the guys in the honda dealer shop and they swear that camber kit is pointless on anything less than 3 inches. just get the toe alignment done and its all good. if you driving the car like its meant to be driven with the suspension kit then youll wear tires fast from cornering, drifting, racing, etc.. if you aint driving like that then put the factory suspension on and go pick up the groceries.

Let me give you a little information. A camber kit is not pointless so go back and tell the dumbasses at the dealer they need to get their **** straight. A well tuned alignment is ESSENTIAL even if you are daily driving, but even more so if you are racing. You think touring cars just happen to get massive amounts of camber by not using some form of camber adjustment? It isn't necessarily used to get camber INTO spec, but rather to fine tune it.
Does camber wear exist? Sure, but toe wear is the more likely culprit. And he said he had some rubbing issues. Well the cure for that is to either 1) raise the car up, or 2) ADD more negative camber. That is why I suggested a camber kit.
