em1 coupe access to wires

Hi i own a right hand drive em1 coupe as im from the UK. Im installing a alarm system but need advice on a few things.

Were is the best place to locate the main module as its housed in a steel square box and their seems to be hardly any room under the drivers panel.

I need to feed some wires through the drivers door grommet but cant find it from under the dash. Do they have molex connectors or is it just a rubber grommet with wires feed through?

best place to install the hood pin switch?

Thanks for all your help

Welcome!

Wherever there is room to hide it. I have seen the control boxes stuck in whatever cubbyhole they can find and secured in place with plastic cable ties. I've seen them cable tied right to wire harnesses.

Control unit = Steel box?
Seems like all the alarms and remote starts I have ever seen are in a plastic case.

You can follow the original door jamb harness through the hinge area, if it has wiring there.

If not you will have to run your own wires. (Seems like all the cars over here at least have speaker wires run through the door jambs. If yours has no wiring at all, IDK if there are blank grommets in the body and door in that case.)

If you need to connect to existing power locks, maybe find the wiring under the dash so you don't have to run wires into the doors.

Wherever is most convenient. Each car is different.

I coated my hood pin switch in dielectric silicone grease to make it a little bit more weather resistant.

There should be room under the steering column. Behind the radio works also.

Try finding a spot near the hood latch. There may be a hole that you can utilize.
