I'd take it out wherever the most space is (bottom or wheelwell?). You may need to remove the bracket off of the block to gain enough room.
Last one I did had the lower bolt seized in the bracket AND the owner had mutilated the end of the bolt (ruined) trying to get it apart in his driveway. Fun times.
