Civic 99 EX - OBD 3-pin Conn capabilities

Hello,

I purchased and ELM 323 cable which has a 16 Pin OBD plug.

Looking in my car and doing some research I found mine has only and 3-Pin OBD diagnostic plug.

I know also that there is some adapters from 3 pin to 16 around there for sale.

My question is, alright I can get this adapter, but, will I be able to connect my car to my pc and read the sensor data? I dont want to read trouble codes, i want to live data, sensors data, charts and so on.

The 3 pin OBD connector has the capabilities to read the live data and sensor data the same way as the 16-pin plug does?

Thanks - Ricardo.

Ps. Forgive me for some miss typing in my text. Im not native English speaker.
