Interior light problem
Interior light problem
I have a '98 LX. My interior light comes on when I switch it to ON, but I get nothing when I switch it to DOOR. I've tried all four doors and nothing. I then used an ohmmeter to ohm out the door switches and the plungers are fine. I then pulled the interior light and the ground wire (white, red, green) does not ohm out to ground (with the doors open). Does anybody know where the ground wire goes when it leaves the overhead interior light? The driver's door switch has a smaller green wire so, it must connect up to the larger white, red, green wire somewhere. I've also noticed that the rear doors have a larger white, red, green wire similar to the interior light ground wire.
Mucho thanks!
UPDATE: It shows in the Honda Civic Service Manual that the wire harness from the interior light travels down the driver's side pillar to the leftside dash somewhere. I will look there and report back what I find.

Re: Interior light problem
The 6th gens dome circuit is tied into the factory audio system (for whatever reason Honda had ?)
There is info some place about adding a jumper in the audio harness wiring to re-enable it.
