Question about reinstalling stock head unit
Question about reinstalling stock head unit
I recently purchased a 99 LX. The car is completely stock except for the head unit. The previous owner installed a panasonic deck, which looks and sounds good, but I hate detachable faceplates. They are a pain to attach and detach every time I leave the car parked. I'm not a huge audio geek, so stock is just fine for me. I prefer the stock deck since it's just simpler, easier to use, and doesn't attract attention from thieves. I found a stock honda CD player from a 99-00 civic on ebay. Can I just remove the panasonic and reinstall the stock one? Will I run into any wiring issues? I assume there already is a wiring harness adapter joining the panasonic deck to the stock harness that I would also remove, then the stock plug should plug right into the stock radio? Does this sound correct? Thanks for help.

Re: Question about reinstalling stock head unit
if the previous owner didn't cut the stock harness off, should be a simple swap. if they did, Metra has a harness you can put back on.
