2000 Honda Civic Radio Installation

Hi, so this is stupid but I accidentally cut the factory harness off because I was trying to contact the hires the old fasion way using black tape. The cd player is not working. I now know that I could have gotten a harness adaptor and that would have done the trick. I still have the harness that I cut off and is quite unsure how I should properly connect it back. Any advice for this newby is much appreciated. Thnx

I am having the same problem with the same car and there was not any extra wire left on the harness to reconnect (if that would have even worked)! Please help! I really don't want to pay Best Buy to figure this out for me!

Re: 2000 Honda Civic Radio Installation

ok first off if there is enough wire left to connect the factory plug then rewire it back on, using solder and shrink tube or at the very least some good butt connectors. Next here is the colour code printout for the 00 civic;
Constant 12V+ - Blue/White
Switched 12V+ - Yellow/Red
Ground - -Black
Illumination - Red/Black
Dimmer - n/a
Left Front (+) Blue
Left Front (-)Gray/Black
Right Front (+)Red/Green
Right Front (-)Brown/Black
Left Rear (+)Blue/Yellow
Left Rear (-)Gray/White
Right Rear (+)Red/Yellow
Right Rear (-)Brown/White
Connect up your aftermarket deck matching the wires accordingly. If you need help with that part then you should not be wiring anything in the car as you can not read a simple wiring schematic.
