Re: broken speedo?

90% it's a VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor, or wiring. It should be placed somewhere near a gearbox. check for it in the service manual. Haven't got it? google it
other 10% it's a speedo gauge

Re: broken speedo?

I’ve had similar problems with my 5th gen. Civics, and it ended up being the speedo. After searching web I found it to be a problem with this generation of Civics. It seemed to worsen after pushing the odometer reset. I replaced mine from salvage yards.

Re: broken speedo?

I have the exact same car, 2000 civic SE and mine does the same, its really irritating, it gets stuck on like 70 sometimes and i will slow down to 30 before it changes. Any ideas? its not that it's always wrong, just really jumpy. Did you find anything on this yet sparky?
