I have a 2000 Civic HX and am trying to install a sony cd player in it but for some reason when i attached the wiring harness that came with the cd player to the one in the car there is one extra wire on the car side. It is an odd one out, its brown, all the others are color coded. Maybe it needs to connect into another pair I dont know? any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you accidently split a speaker harness?

Uhhh... When I had my Sony XPLOD in my car I had an extra wire and it was for the power antenna (which I didn't have) and I don't think that you do either, lol. I don't remember what color it is though since it was so long ago that I put it in. Check the instruction manual to see, it may be that, in which case just tape (electrical tape)the end of it or put a cap on it.
