Steel wheels with 1 mm different ET

I've put new summer tires with wheels on my 1999 Civic Si. The new wheels and tires came off a 2008-2011 Hyundai Accent. The original wheel spec is 5.5Jx14 ET45 for the Honda. The Hyundai is 5.5Jx14 ET46. Will this cause any issues for the long run for safety, clearance wear and tear in the long run or anything else?
Also the studs don't tighten like they used to; is this a safety issue?
Thanks

JT

Wheel specs are fine.

What the hell does this mean? Are you not torquing them?

Re: Steel wheels with 1 mm different ET

As long as the steelies clear your calipers and suspension (they should), you'll be fine with no long term issues.

now, the issue with the studs now.. If you're on OEM rims, they use ball-seat lug nuts. I'm not 100% sure on Hyundai, but they might use conical seat (usually 60-degree taper) lug nuts, so you'll likely run into an issue there. The ball seat lug nuts will have a small ring of contact on the lug seat faces of the hyundai rims (instead of the entire surface of the lug nut seat making contact with the rim). If you're on aftermarket rims, they should have a 60-degree taper conical lug nut.

One solution is to get aftermarket lug nuts and get cone to ball seat adapter washer things

@Chezboat24 My response was delayed bc was dealing with work stuff, but I'm willing to bet OEM ball seat lug nuts and conical seat on the hyundai rims.

I'm torqueing them to factory spec. Its just that they bottoming out before clamping and take more effort.

Hyundai rims are black steelies from the factory.
Is this what you mean by 'things'? Conical seat to Ball seat Adapters?

I can take pics and post if that will help clarify the issue.

Has anyone else done what I've done? Put on Hyundai steel rims on a Civic? Any solutions to the ball seat Honda lug nut vs conical Hyundai lug nuts?

Re: Steel wheels with 1 mm different ET

Just pick up conical nuts.
Keep the Honda nuts incase you put Honda wheels back on
