Rep Power: 0 wheel alignment 1997 honda civic si
Purchased new tires, now the tire shop states a wheel alignment is needed shortly.
The last wheel alignment done on this vehicle was by a garage that works on Hondas and Toyota vehicles (not a honda dealership), the wheel alignment specifications min and max they used are different from what the tire company is stating for example under Primary Angles;
The FRONT - TOE - left & right are : -0.04 min to 0.12 max (tire shop) -0.2 min to 0.7 max (garage)
TOTAL: -0.08 min to 0.24max (tire shop) -0.5 min to 1.5 max ( garage)
REAR - TOE - left and right are 0.04 min to 0.16 max garage same as above (but minimums are postive versus negative)
TOTAL: 0.08 min to 0.32 max (Tire Shop) 0.5 min - to 1.5 maximum (garage)
The tire company provided no initial readings for Front Casters left and right but the garage did
Thrust angle no specs but assume it should be set to 0 or as close as possible.
SECONDARY ANGLES
SAI AND INCLUDED ANGLE no readings provided by tire shop but garage has provided readings.
Should i be concerned that the specifications are different betwen the two - my thought is same vehicle specs should be same, but i could be wrong.
I noticed the Tire Company on the tire sheet they had the incorrect model for the civic, but i know the tire size installed is correct. Maybe none of this is relevant, but if i need a wheel alignment i want all checked out and to spec.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

the wheel alignment specifications min and max they used are different from what the tire company is stating
One set of specs is expressed as degrees, the other is expressed as a distance (inches or mm). Both are acceptable and commonly used, what they see on their screen or printout (and therefore how they discuss it) all depends on on how their system was set up.

I didn't actually check, but those specs are probably exactly the same.
