Brake caliper wear indicators and when to change pads
Am I supposed to drive until a wear indicator actually touches a rotor, or am I supposed to change pads just before one of the indicators touches a rotor?
Right now, I have a wear indicator 1mm from a rotor but the brake pad has a thickness 2-3mm greater than the suggested thickness for replacement.
I am new to brakes. Bought Duralast Gold ceramic pads from Autozone.

I would replace them before it hits..if you wait you risk damaging the rotor itself..the indicator will actully cut a nice groove into it..they are there to let you know you will soon have no brakes.
