Gasket matched head and intake manny issue w/idle

I’m haveing a problem with my 98 civic ex auto I had just resurfaced the head myself at work gasket matched the head and intake manifold also replaced the radiator with a high flow, water pump, oil pump and replaced all the gaskets on the head and intake and exhaust. No leaks at all no vacuum leaks or anything just a jumping idle, it did not do this before witch leads me to Believe that it’s the opened up head and intake Manni making it air rich, ive been over this car 100 times and I’m thinking I need bigger injectors to compensate the new air flow or new iacv or new tps idk. Also has a cai and 4-2-1 header cat back no codes no loose of coolant or oil. Your input is greatly appreciated. I looked everywhere and this specific topic has not been met.

Did you smoke test for vacuum leaks?
Clean the IACV and it's screen gasket?
Cleaned the throttle body?
Bled coolant properly?

Distilled water? Did you bleed per the service manual?

Front end up (jackstands or incline) radiator neck above engine.
Climate control on max heat and fan off
Bleed bubbles until radiator fan engages twice and keeping radiator full in the process.
Afterwards check both reservoir and radiator levels when engine is dead cold

Block off the throttle body intake and blow smoke through brake booster vacuum line. Look for smoke possibly leaking from engine gaskets or vacuum hoses.

Re: Gasket matched head and intake manny issue w/idle

it's definitely not from opening up the ports. i had a month long beer and grinding project on an older honda 1.6. i had opened the top three sides of the intake ports 1/8" from the divider in the head all the way back to the intake plenum and frankensteined a 75mm TB on the end. still used stock injectors, still idled great. would bog until 4krpm and then spring to life breaking the tires free. i'm certain you didn't enlarge stuff as much as i did, so you can rest assured you didn't ruin anything with a little gasket matching.

Re: Gasket matched head and intake manny issue w/idle

Well I have my car at a incline and trying to get out all the bubbles I did this twice so far it helped a little but it’s still jumping idle and running like crap like hesitation on throttle then it kicks in still waiting on the new tps and iacv hopefully that will solve the issue. Tried the smoke test got nothing off that. There is no salvaging the iacv or tps they are rust welded on and I’m going to have to hack the bolts with my cut off wheel. I live in Ohio so all this **** is rusty but surprisingly the car body isn’t bad. The new parts will be in the mail in a few days keep me posted on any new ideas. I figured it’s all dirty from the amount of aluminum I took off the intake manifold about .100 off the sides and opened up the bridge on top at least .200 so that’s a lot of dust clogging up crap. Should have taken it all apart I was just being lazy.

that's not dust, that's metal shavings and abrasive grit. you're nuts!

i just finished these recently. i took them 100% apart, they'll be getting a warm soapy bath in the bathtub with bristley brushes and washcloths n stuff before reassembly.

not a good place to get lazy my friend.

I used a surface grinder that was collecting dust at my work I did clean the head really good and used soap and water as u did I just didn’t take the throttle body apart and clean that. But the cars running good now I did the coolant flush and that seemed to do the trick and my dizzy was still loose from me timing it I had the top bolt tight but forgot about the bottom 2 and it was jumping around causing the car to run like crap but I just took it out on the interstate and got up to 80-90 mph quick and ez, thanks for the inputs .
