Cost to repair air control valve
Hello,
My mechanic is charging me $500.00 to replace the air control valve including labor. Is that a fair price?
Need to get all the details before I say yes. I need to know before Monday.

Not trying to sound like an azzhole, but since your mechanic wants to charge you this amount, you should be asking your mechanic more questions.
Ask for an itemized, detailed estimate so you know how much the parts cost, and exactly which parts will be replaced (maybe even full names and part numbers and sources), how much for labor, and shop supplies, and taxes, everything that adds up to the total price you were quoted.
Also, you provided zero pertinent detailed information about your own car, no year, trim level, engine designation, transmission type, or anything like that.....and you posted in the 10th generation area which is for 2016 and newer cars, and cars this new no longer employ an idle air control valve at all.
Moving this thread to........maybe 6th generation area until you let us know what year your car is.
