Just like the tittle says... I recently bought a 97 civic vtec but noticed there's a missing part and a wire exposed guessing it connects to something that connects to a metal tube like a dipstick but not... The picturew i uploaded is not from my vehicle but off a youtube video I came across but couldnt find another explaining what the parts name. Thanks in advance!

I can't be 100% sure, but I think I found it on a parts diagram. Someone (*cough ezone cough*) might be able to verify it. You can see the rear solenoid of the assembly under the dizzy.
#5 on the drawing, SOLENOID ASSY., LOCK-UP (KEIHIN), part number 28300-P24-J0

My vtec has that single rear solenoid and working fine. but it looks kinda similar but just a single one, no other connection, but it's very difficult to find the name. Thanks for the feedback!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Help Identify Missing Part
How about some pics of YOUR car and the wire in question, its location, # of wires in the connector, the colors of the wire insulation (most have a main color and a colored stripe), and a pic showing the general location too?

Re: Help Identify Missing Part
First pic, open tube sticking up is just that, a tube sticking up. It's the trans vent and is supposed to have a special rubber cap to keep dirt out (yet still allow air movement)
Yellow wire, can you follow it to see where it goes?
Second pic, what is it showing? The single wire for the VTEC solenoid is not connectd to anything? If so, its mate should be green with a yellow stripe...might come out of the harness below the distributor
