1999 Civic cranks but isn't firing
1999 Civic cranks but isn't firing
Car started misfiring but now it only cranks, won't fire up. I replaced the spark plug wires, rotor, and coil. What could be the problem? Could it be the ecm? Any help would be great!

Got compression? Got spark? Got fuel?
Got firing order? Got wet plugs?
Got a check engine light? Got codes?

No check engine lights, firing order seems fine, don't know about spark, fuel was full, no oil in the plugs. Didn't do compression test yet and didn't check for codes yet.

Check engine light MUST come on when you turn the key on. If it does not, then that is an indication the ECM is not getting powered up.
Checked the main relay yet?
Easy to check.....have someone you dislike hang on to the end of a plug wire with their bare hand while you crank it over. If you hear an elbow hit the hood along with yelling and cussing, you have spark.
Fuel must get into the engine through the fuel injectors. Is it? (see below) Didn't care about oil. I meant fuel. If the plugs are wet with gasoline, that's a clue as to what is happening inside the engine. If they are dry, that's also a clue.
Got fuel under lots of pressure up into the fuel rail? That would be a clue the pump is actually working. If pump does not run, check main relay.
Does it crank evenly, or uneven?
