Help!!! Car alarm issues

I have a 1999 Honda Civic ex with factory installed car alarm. Today, tried to open the door with the fob but no luck. Tried a second key fob and still no luck. How do I turn off the alarm so I can drive it to get it checked out? Where do I get batteries for the fob since I haven't ever replaced them?

Replacing the battery in the fob would be what I try first. Auto parts store will have the battery you need. If it doesn't tell you what kind on the back of the fob they usually have books you can look it up in.

I thought if you used the key to unlock the door the alarm wouldn't go off?!?
