Hello experts,
I have a 2000 civic, 83000 miles, automatic trans. It runs well until it warms up (after about 20-25 min of actual driving).
Symptoms when moving from a stop:
- if I press hard on the has, car shakes and has trouble shifting 1st gear when i
- if i let it move for a bit a press slowly, it usually shifts.
- these last 2 symptoms are worse if I am on a hill.
- if i am on a hill the car (at a red light) the car starts moving backward if don't press the brakes.
- sometimes i hear a grinding noise if i go from reverse to drive.
- other gear seems good.
- it gave me a code before that mentioned "solenoid", "low fluid" and something else i don't remember. Unfortunately the check engine light is not on now because the battery was dead for a while.

I checked the fluid, it's not low. Why is it doing it only after driving for a while? Any help will be appreciated!

83k miles? Wow, that's hella low! Have you ever changed the tranny fluid?
