need help finding issue with my cooling system

so i bought this 99 4 door civic from some kid that was "running perfectly". drove it home and during the drive it had pushed most of the antifreeze out through the over flow tank damn kids haha but anyways i got into it found that they had fully essentially rigged it to keep doing this. overflow tank had holes poked in it, thermostat cut out, radiator car that doesnt seal, whole deal. so i got started fixing it new head gasket, overflow tank, radiator cap, a couple hoses, new head studs, all new gaskets for valve cover, exhaust, intake, new sensors all around replaced relay for fan (they had it running constantly). it seemed to do the trick for about a week but now its doing the same thing no over heating and barely pushing into the overflow, but drove it for a while (hour and a half) and the overflow was completely full and starting to leak temp still reads fine and after it cooled all the fluids cam back as they should. heater core seems to work fine and i flushed the system a couple times just because while i was repairing the rest. im kinda at a loss for what to do now im driving my 97 lx now that's supposed to be getting rebuilt in the garage which was the entire point of buying this other "perfectly running civic" if anybody's seen or heard of this / how to fix it i would greatly appreciate the input.

I have kind of the same deal. I had my 98 checked at a shop they claim the head gasket is ok. But it to is pushing fluid into over flow tank and I am at a loss as to why? Does you car cut out at all while driving?

Re: need help finding issue with my cooling system

I read on another forum that it could be a cracked or bad over flow tank or bad tube between rad n tank. I had my head gasket checked.

The head should have been measured for warpage while it was off, and corrected as necessary.

Those can be easily checked.
I had my head gasket checked.
Seems like 80% of these head gasket failures are misdiagnosed several times before someone finally figures it out.

The common checks that most people do won't find most of these head gasket failures.
