Misfires

So about 2 weeks ago. I was driving and my car started to slow down . I then pushed down the pedal and it sounded like it was charging up and then it shoots off . So I took it to autozone and they told me to get my mass air flow sensor cleaned so I did that and then it started to shake really bad . So my mechanic told me that I needed spark plugs so I got all 4 spark plugs replaced . Problem still not solved . Then I was told by another guy that my air filter box was broker and I needed a new one .. So I replaced that and one of the coil pack connectors because it was broken in the coil pack and the prongs were just pushed inside so I replaced that ... Then I took it to ammco because everybody kept saying I think it's ur transmission . Took it to ammco and they said it was not my transmission it's my engine that's it's not getting all the power that it needs to produce and I have 4 misfires in all my cylinders .. I then called autožone back and told them what ammco said and the mechanic at autozone said it could be my fuel injector fuel pump or my fuel filter .. What I need to know is do I need new coil packs and wires ? Or should I check the fuel stuff first ?

Re: Misfires

Looks like you're being bounced around by uneducated people and firing the parts canon at your car.
When they checked for misfires...was there a check engine light on? Did they plug a scanner into the car? Compression test? Leakdown test? or did they just take a look at it and tell you that you're misfiring?

It sounds to me like a fuel filter issue.
If your car feels like its "Surging" like it drives fine, but under stress like an on ramp or uphill, you feel like the car's about to stall then suddenly power up again, most likely cause is a fuel issue.
