fluttering temp gauge with vid. please help

Hi everyone, I have a 97 ex civic. Recently I had some overheating issues from a bust hose and then from lack of water in the system. I pay attention to my car all the time when I drive and never did my gauge even reach the top of the gauge or the "h" mark. I fixed those issues and even though it lo longer gets hot and theres more than plenty of coolant in the reservoir, ive noticed that my temperature gauge flutters and seems to do so with the use of the throttle and while shifting. It flutters DOWN. Then comes back up. Heres a short vid of what im referring to. I desperately need a "go-pro" haha so bear with me.
"Http://youtu.be/24ovAUU-yL4" u need to take off quotes when u copy and paste (duh) if the vid wont play on here
I should note this doesnt start happening until the car gets to normal operating temperature.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks again.

Re: fluttering temp gauge with vid. please help

I'd think the sender or wiring to the sender is going open circuit, as in loses contact or poor connection. (Needle would go up if the wire was shorted to ground, and it goes down when the wire is disconnected.)

Since you say it only does this once it gets to operating temperature, I'd guess the wiring is probably ok and it's a bad sending unit for the gauge.

It's the one with a single wire terminal.
