State Inspection Time

I have to get my car safety and emissions inspected this weekend and I currently have the check engine light on because of something to do with my exhaust/catalytic converter...or so I guess. I can't remember the code off the top of my head, gonna check it Wednesday.

Will I be able to pass the emissions test with this issue?
If I go to Autozone and clear the code, will that trick the local shop owner into allowing my car to pass? (not trying to take money away from shop owners, just don't see the value in the new parts right now).

I guess my ultimate question is, with a check engine light on, do I have any hope of passing my inspections...I'm in Missouri by the way.

Thanks.

Oh, also, I start the autocross season in two weeks...get excited!

No way, Jose. That's the first thing they'll see.

Doubtful. If all they're checking is the computer then your emissions readiness status is most likely "not ready." If they also physically check emissions then you're double-screwed.

There is, however, a way to fool the O2 sensor into thinking the emissions are good... https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...on-w-pics.html

If MO does visual inspections of the components though, you'd be triple-screwed.
