Few problems i need help on!!

I have a 97 ex coupe. so when I got the car I thought it was a complete z6 with a y8 manifold with a p2p ecu but im starting to think its a y8 head. I was doing some research and the y8 ecu looks for knock sensor second o2 and crank sensor I think? ( correct if wrong) and that causes the check engine light to be on if I have a z6 because they don't have those. so if I have a full z6 is that why the check engine light is on, and why it runs a little laggy? should I get a matching p28? how can I tell what cylinder head I have because they share so many similarities. I also need new spark plug wires and I know one of the two cylinder heads are a little deeper so I don't want to buy the wrong wires first time around lol sorry guys if im a newb, and yes I searched for this topic before posting couldn't find one. pls help

is that why the check engine light is on,
Read the codes (or get the codes read) and you may have your own answer.

You should inquire with the previous owner as to what all your various parts/questions are....or ask whomever assembled the mess and stuffed it in the car.
