Hi,
I have a 1998 Honda civic SI and was wondering if it has an EGR valve and a EGR chamber passage. I looked under the fuel rail where its suppose to be but cant find it. I want to clean it because it seems to idle low at stops only after the engine is hot. It also seems to hesitate and doesn't have much power sometimes. I've cleaned the throttle body and changed the spark plugs. If anyone can help me find the EGR passage that would be great.

1) Post your location. The cars are not equipped the same for all countries they are marketed in.

I did not see an EGR offered for the car I looked up (98 coupe Si), but you might plug in your VIN and see if you come up with something different.


If you do not have an EGR valve in this circled location, yours is not equipped with it

Thanks! I live in Calgary, Alberta. I will look up my car. My car is not a VTec engine so it might not have an EGR valve. I found something beside the Fuel pressure regulator that might be an EGR but doesn't quite look the same.

It should have a D16Y8. Still a Vtec...just a single overhead cam Vtec.
