Rep Power: 0 Is Super DOT4 okay to use as brake fluid?
I have a couple of unopened cans of Pentosin Super DOT4 (also known as DOT 4+) that probably won't get used up soon in the other car I have, so I would like to use it to do a brake fluid replacement on a 96 Civic EJ6.
The factory manual specs says DOT 3. DOT 4 exceeds DOT3 specs, and DOT 4+ exceeds those further. So, would it be a problem if I used it on the Civic that expects DOT3? Most everyone I spoke to says DOT 4+ is downwardly compatible with DOT3.
product specs here:

Thanks in advance.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

What's a bottle of brake fluid worth, like $4?
You should be ok using DOT4 and 4+. I wouldn't see a problem with it as long as it is fresh.
But, I bet 99% of people will never push the car hard enough to need fluid with those specs.
